Ovarian and Gonadal Vein Treatment

Enlarged, dilated veins in the scrotum and pelvis from the testicles in men are associated with infertility.
In women, dilated ovarian veins are associated with pelvic pain and pelvic congestion syndrome.
Enlarged pelvic veins can be detected with CT, ultrasound or MRI of the pelvis.
Our interventional radiologists can treat these varicose veins in the pelvis with embolic agents that block the veins and relieve the symptoms. This is done through a small puncture hole in the hip after the skin has been anesthetized.
